Product Worth the Price: Tide to Go Instant Stain Remover

When I was 16, I took my first trip abroad without either of my parents. It was still chaperoned, but because it felt more gown up, my mother made it extra special by buying several new outfits for me. One of those purchases was a beautiful white eyelet skirt, which I loved and reserved for a nice dinner. Of course, that would be the night I spilled a whole plate of red sauce into my lap.

As if you couldn’t tell from this blog, I love nice things, and my new skirt was no exception. And of course being a teenager, when everything seems like life or death, combined with missing my family and friends at home, the spill caused me to dissolve into tears.

Luckily, I had packed several Tide To Go sheets, so back at the hotel and through watery eyes, I set to work carefully pressing and rubbing the sheets into the stain in a circular pattern. It took an amazingly long time, but I am still surprised to report that by the time I had used up all the stain sheets, there was not even a hint of sauce left on the white skirt.

For good reason, I have been a devoted fan of Tide stain removers ever since. I find that the pen is easier to use than the sheets, and I have not bothered finding out if any other brand works as well, because I am convinced it is worth every penny.

(I test a lot of products. In order for it to be a Products Worth the Price, it must be an item I've lived with for a while and absolutely will purchase again.)
