Adorable Baby Gift

Goodnight Moon Onsie &
Goodnight Moon board book
While on a weekend trip to Block Island last summer, I stopped into a shop that has been my favorite BI shop for as long as I can remember called Glass Onion. Walking into this tiny store is like visiting all the best markets from around New England and the world in tiny representations. There are always wonderful things to discover: Beautiful hand-painted glass paperweights, which could have come from an upscale Brooklyn craft fair; hand forged iron wall hooks that would not be out of place in an old Vermont barn full of antiques; colorful hand-made beaded bracelets from Africa; classic Saint James striped shirts; woven baskets with leather handles that remind me of Spain; jewel-colored silk blankets appearing to have come from an old-world market; and nautical-looking woven rugs are just a teeny example of everything Glass Onion offers. There is so much beauty displayed from underfoot all the way up to the ceiling rafters, that one would be forgiven for spending an hour in this little store.

While I usually skip past the baby display, on my most recent trip, I happened to have two very good friends who were pregnant, so I paused to look at the collection of books, baby bath products and onesies. In that corner is where I discovered one of the cutest onesies I've seen.

How adorable are these Children's Classic Books Onesies from Out of Print Clothing? To make them even cuter, the tags are designed to look like library card inserts with the names of people who have checked out the book! I bought the Goodnight Moon for one friend, and Le Petit Prince for the other.

Giving the book that matched the onesie was an obvious choice, and when I looked to purchase Goodnight Moon, I realized that these onesies are available on Amazon, as are the books, of course.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar Onesie & The Very Hungry Caterpillar board book
plus a caterpillar cookie cutter for very hungry new mothers

Both the book and the onesie are practical, but still an adorable gift when bundled together. And from what I hear, adding a Sophie the Giraffe Teether to any baby gift is always appreciated by both momma and baby!
